At about about 11 am Thursday morning, May 1st at the BoCC meeting, El Paso County
Parks Department Director, Tim Wolken, made a recommendation to find an alternate site for the OHV park. A motion to that effect was made by
Commissioner Lathen and unanimously approved by the BoCC.
The combination of the raptor nests, the archaeological and paleontological resources and noise abatement issues all made it too
difficult to build OHV trails.
I look forward to participating in OHV reform that I believe has commenced at the State level.
Other alternatives for the Corral Bluffs property such as a regional Open
Space Park will, no doubt, be pursued.
